When Edward was nearly six months old he was definitely ready for some more challenging toys. However, he was size of an average three month old, so it was really tricky to find developmental toys that were the right size for his tiny hands.
The Fisher Price Butterfly Shape Sorter was a great buy. You can lift off the top of the sorter, so that even tiny babies can play with it. It has six colourful shapes and helps to develop fine motor skills and problem solving.
Although Edward wasn’t sitting up, he played with it propped up between our legs, as well as lying down. He is starting to get the idea of the sorter a few months on, but was quite happy just picking up the small pieces and bashing them about!
